Secretary Chu Announces Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future
Fri, 29 Jan 2010 05:00:00 GMT - Washington, D.C. - As part of the Obama Administration's commitment to restarting America's nuclear industry, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu today announced the formation of a Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future to provide recommendations for developing a safe, long-term solution to managing the Nation's used nuclear fuel and nuclear waste.

Federal agencies have used performance contracting for the past 15 years. This innovative approach has infused over $1.9 billion in private capital into federal agencies and performance contracts currently save the government the equivalent of 16 trillion Btu each year.
